About Us
Inspire Space was created as a non for profit to provide opportunities for people to participate in space related activities in Ireland. We do this through educational outreach events like our ‘How to be an Astronaut‘ talk, our Inspire Space Day at Christmas, as well as running competitions and hosting events that brings the space community together and encourages collaboration. We support Irish students who wish to pursue a career in the space sector by providing information on educational, cultural and career opportunities available to them. We also provide partial scholarships to help Irish students study space related courses, such as at the prestigious International Space University.
This year, we’re launched our Zero Gravity Raffle – to provide everyone with a chance to feel what it is like to be an astronaut in space and experience the feeling of weightlessness. Proceeds go to support our fund to support students in space education.
Inspire Space Team
The Inspire Space Team at the Ground Control to Astronaut Dan event in July 2017 with Astronaut Dan Tani and Ground Control Operator, Andrea Boyd.
Inspire Space is run by Paul Reilly and Laura Keogh on a part time basis. Paul is a game developer and Laura is a lawyer. Norah Patten, an aspiring astronaut, has also spent a lot of time aiding us with our events. Paul, Laura and Norah all met each other through the International Space University and wanted to bring more opportunities in space to Ireland!
We thankfully have many volunteers to make most of our activities possible. Thank you to everyone!
